Rita J. King is a columnist and investigative reporter. Locally, Rita writes for the North County News, a Westchester weekly newspaper. Her photographs, essays and articles have appeared in the New York Times, the Village Voice, MSNBC's "The News with Brian Williams," and in national magazines. Most recently, she wrote an article for CorpWatch: "Entergy Holds New Orleans for Ransom." She will be a contributor for a new magazine that debuts this fall, GOOD, which will feature articles and profiles about ethically ambitious individuals, groups and efforts. Rita owns a business writing intimate stories about people's lives for private use within families so the members can understand one-another on a deeper level, and she is the founder of the Ruminations on America Project, for which she has been interviewing one person from each of the fifty states, in alphabetical order, about their respective lives, states and the state of the Union.
