Biographical Notes on Diane Steiker

ESNW member Diane Steiker is currently a social studies teacher at the Bronx High School of Science, a Lincoln-Douglas debate and speech coach at Byram Hills High School in Armonk and Model United Nations Advisor for Rye High School. Diane's extensive past experience includes work with the Washington Post Company/Captain K12 Learning Services as curriculum developer and writer, and with the New York Society for Ethical Culture as creator and implementer of lessons for its Sunday ethics program.

Diane holds a Master's Degree in education from Lehman College and has completed work toward a doctorate in history at Hunter College/Graduate Center of C.U.N.Y. She has participated in many special projects, including lasts July's Gilder Lerhman Summer Seminar, Twentieth-Century Women's Rights Movement at the Schlesinger Library, Radcliffe Institute of Advanced Study, Harvard University. Diane's publications include four volumes of New York Regents Advantage, various music reviews for Fad Magazine, and poetry during her years as a theater major at Bennington College in Vermont.

Diane lives in Croton with her husband, ESNW member Maurice Steiker, and their children, Cassandra, Paras and Max.
